WHO + WHAT + WHY"Harrie" and all "Harrie HQ" spaces is a social-musical experiment, hearkening back to the DIY ethos of MySpace and independent music in the 2000s, created by Kansas musician Chantelle Constable. "Harrie" is nobody, and she can be anybody, unfiltered and unboxed. Harrie HQ operates (primarily) outside of the algorithm of social media, and under the principle that music and art should be given freely from the heart of the creator, and not monetized. You will never be asked to give so much as your email to download any and all mp3s (of public domain or my original music*), and nothing will be behind a subscription or paywall. No catch.* I do believe in respecting the copyright of other artists, so if I record a "cover song" by a modern artist (ie, not in the public domain) then it will be uploaded via a streaming method rather than direct download. "Chantelle" (for is she not also a construct) is a singer, musician, and writer in her mid-30s from the Flint Hills of Kansas, with a background in classical/choral singing, and influenced primarily by artists in the "Great American Songbook" pantheon, musical theatre, and 70s folk / Laurel Canyon traditions.
